Chip Repairs

Don’t let others tell you that chips on engineered stones can’t be repaired. Our photos speak for themselves.

We will repair any quartz based engineered stone (such as Caesarstone, Essastone, Quantum Quartz, etc) as well as your natural stones (such as Marble, Granite, Limestone and Travertine, etc).

No matter the size, our chip repairs are of such a high standard, it’s likely that you won’t even be able to see where the repair was carried out!

Cracks

Although stone countertops seem indestructible, they can crack or joints can separate. Sometimes stone hasn’t been properly supported during installation, it may have had a slight defect or weakness to start with, or perhaps someone has put undue weight or pressure on it.

Don’t despair! The Stone Specialist carries out quality repairs to cracks on varying types of stones.

Firstly we identify and stop the cause of the crack. Then the stone is relevelled, reinforced, supported, refilled with a matching colour resin and repolished to make the crack as invisible to the eye as possible.

Stains

Stains caused by things such as red wine, citrus, permanent markers, etc, are a common problem with stone, particularly with Marble, Granite and Limestone.

Our company has a variety of products that can remove stains from stone surfaces without affecting or damaging the finish of the stone. Stains need to be assessed on a per job basis as treatment will depend on how far the offending product has penetrated and the type of stone.

We also seal benches, using a sealer with a 20 year manufacturer’s warranty after stain-removal to help prevent future staining.

Rejuvenation

A stone benchtop is like a work of art and needs absolute care. Giving your benchtop a facelift can really bring up a tired kitchen or bathroom and can work as a real alternative to replacing it.

Our special powder products and diamond polishing tools can revive your stone and bring it back to looking like new.

On completion we will also seal the bench, using a sealer with a 20 year manufacturer’s warranty to help prevent future staining and fading.

Cut-outs

Buying a new sink or cooktop often means that the existing cutout needs to be enlarged to accommodate your new appliance.

In some instances the existing cutout is too big in which case, if you still have pieces of the original stone we can rebuild sections to accomodate for the smaller appliance.

We also cater for customers replacing their drop-in cooktop to a freestanding stove. In which case the stone will be cut and edges polished to your preferred profile. Flushmounted cooktops are also a growing trend these days.

Customers biggest concern is the amount of dust that can be created when cutting. Our company will section off the area where the cutting is occurring with dropsheets to ensure mnimal dust dispersion through your home.

Stone Floor Polishing & Restoration

Stone floors look amazing when new!

However, over time most floors are subjected to heavy traffic resulting in general wear and tear and also grime and grit becoming engrained into the stone.

Our company has tried and tested a number of special products and techniques that can return your floors to their original colour.

On completion we also seal the floors, using the highest quality sealer on the market to help the floors maintain their new appearance for as long as possible.

Edge profiles

Often flat pack kitchens may come with a benchtop that has a chamfered edge. Transforming the look of your kitchen may be as simple as changing the edge profile.

Flushmounts

Flushmounting is the latest trend in kitchens.

Most stonemasons require specialist machines to perform flushmount or undermount work to benchtops, meaning that if you didn’t request to have it done before your benchtop was installed you will be asked to take your benchtop to a factory to carry out the work, which in most cases is impossible.
